The Teatru Astra

The Teatru Astra in Victoria, Gozo was inaugurated in January 1968. It forms part of a larger musical voluntary organization, the Soċjetà Filarmonika La Stella founded in 1863. During these years, the theatre has hosted international performers such as Raffaella Carra, The Goggi Sisters, Al Bano and Romina Power, The Platters, Bobby Solo, Osibisa, the Montparnasse Ballet Troupe, Nek, the Ballet Classique de Paris and more recently Amedeo Minghi. Local talent has been extensively put to use and encouraged by the Theatre.

The Mediterranea Festival organised for the first time in 2002, is the latest initiative of Teatru Astra, and the first to be marketed internationally.

The Website

A unique and highly designed website that has provided Teatru Astra with the ability to generate new revenue via the sale of the tickets online with the use of our custom developed web application eTICKET, It also allows the Mediterranea administration to keep the site up-to-date with all the latest information to further benefit both registered users and casual browsers. A Back Office allows Mediterranea to manage user registrations and track users. It also allows the management to professional design the event ticket and event venue, together with an extensive report and other marketing tools. Together this adds up to a highly effective website that integrates the best in design and functionality.
